Some
Said It Thundered
This is a transcript of a
preach given by Dan Henry at the Ark in Washington state,
in July of 1996. The topic focuses on the sovereignty of God,
the Almighty Creator of both good and evil. Traditional churches
tell that the evil is an action that is unpleasant or confusing,
caused by the devil for our torment. Our God is a sovereign
God, and in Isaiah 45 he declares that he created evil. He
is in charge of all things! The problem many Christians have
is that they tend to equate good with life, and evil with
death. This is a grave and terrible error, for in reality,
good and evil both grow on the tree of death. They are necessary
principles created by God for our processing, making us fit
for the tree that is all our hope, the Tree of Life.

The Ark
I would like to talk about some things that are kind of …really
difficult to explain and easily, easily misunderstood. Lots
of times, if patriots and such are being interviewed by the
media, what they said during the interview, when it comes
out in the newspaper or television, they don’t even
know if they were there themselves, things can come out so
twisted. And so the message that the Savior gave, the magic
that took place (now someone will get me for using the word
“magic”!) was in the hearing. Because when the
Savior spoke, he knew that there were very few who could hear
what he meant. Everybody heard what he said; but very few
hear what he meant. There was an old term in the early part
of our country, they say, “You mind my meanin’,
child.” And you knew you had better have had it figured
out by then!
Okay lets go to John 12. The Savior’s speaking and
he says in the 24th verse, “Verily verily I say unto
you except a kernel of wheat fall into the ground and die
it abideth alone; but if it die it bringeth forth much fruit.
He that loveth his life shall lose it, and he that hateth
his life in this world, shall keep it unto life eternal. If
any man serve me, let Him follow me, and where I am, there
shall my servant be. If any man serve me, Him will my father
honor. Now is my soul troubled, and what shall I say, father,
Save me from this hour? But for this cause came I unto this
hour.”
Alright, what was the hour that he was coming to? Wouldn’t
all of us consider this a very, very evil hour? We would consider
this the evil hour. And actually, in the history of mankind,
it was the evilest hour that could be conceived of, and the
Savior was coming right up to that hour. And he says, “What
shall I say, Father, save me from this hour? But for this
cause came I unto this hour. Father, glorify thy name.”
Now he is praying a desperate prayer here, and evil is about
to triumph over everything that we understand as good, isn’t
it? “Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice
from heaven saying, I have both glorified it and will glorify
it again. And the people therefore that stood by and heard
it, said that it thundered. Others said an angel spoke to
Him.”
Okay, what I want to talk about this afternoon is “some
said it thundered.” Here was the Son of the Almighty,
he was coming up to the greatest hour in his life thus far,
the betrayal and the crucifixion, and the death of the only
Begotten Son of Yahweh, and he says, “Father, glorify
thyself.” And the Father answered, “Then came
the voice from heaven saying, I have both glorified it and
will glorify it again. The people therefore that stood by
and heard said that it thundered.” One of the most magnificent
moments in the history of mankind, and the witnesses that
witnessed said, “it thundered.”
Well, I’ve heard marvelous sermons being preached,
and I’ve gone outside and heard people say, “It
thundered.” Because, they didn’t hear at all of
what was being said. All they could come up with was, “It
thundered.” Well, I want to kind of undo some thunder,
hopefully, in this talk.
We have what we call “good” and “evil”
and all of us say, “this is good,” and “this
is evil.” That’s okay because that’s what
we were taught; we were brought up on good and evil. But somehow,
we’ve got to understand that it isn’t “good,”
and it isn’t “evil.” Good and evil are on
one tree, aren’t they? On the good and evil tree--because
the Scripture says “In the day that you eat thereof
of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, dying thou
shalt surely die.” All the good that you can possibly
imagine is on the same tree with all the evil that you can
possibly imagine. Now, is there any life on that tree? At
all? No; then you cannot look for life in “good”
any more than you can look for life in “evil”!
Now we have to put good and evil into the same category:
NO LIFE. I wrote this verse a little bit, I modified Scripture
(now somebody’s going to say it thundered): “In
the day you eat thereof, thou shalt be double minded.”
Did we get that? “In the day you eat thereof, thou shalt
be double minded.” And we’re all double minded
to this minute. What does the Bible say about a double minded
man? “Unstable in ALL of his ways, and think not that
that man shall receive anything from Yahweh.” So we
have to understand a principle whereby good and evil become
the same thing: Death.
So I’m going to draw some pictures. We’re good
at understanding illustrations. Here’s the Sun, the
one that’s out there shining, and here’s planet
Earth, and here’s the moon. Alright, things are working
great, aren’t they? What two forces are operating in
our relationship between the Sun and the Earth? There are
two forces, two main forces operating. And you have to have
them both. One is gravitational pull. What would happen if
we removed gravitational pull? The planet would very, very
soon be lifeless. Everything in the Universe would just go
off, fly off in every direction. Well gravitational pull is
a good principle, isn’t it? If gravity is pulling our
planet towards the sun, what’s keeping it out there?
Motion; motion is keeping it out there. And, when you get
the gravitational pull and the speed of motion balanced, you
have a stable orbit, don’t you? Now if gravity quit,
our planet would fly off into the dark space, wouldn’t’
it? Well we have to have that pull, don’t we? Now lets
say that motion quit. What would happen if all of a sudden,
our planet stopped spinning around the Sun? Post-toasties!
We’d go right in! So, we have to have gravity, and we
have to have motion in order for this planet to remain alive.
Now is gravity “good” or “evil”? It
just is! Is motion “good” or is motion “evil”?
It is!
Now here’s the moon orbiting the earth; what’s
keeping it in orbit? Gravity. What’s keeping it up there?
Motion. Let’s just eliminate gravity from the earth:
What would happen to the Moon? Every object in motion tends
to remain in motion unless acted upon by an outside force.
The moon would just keep right on going. What would happen
to you and I if gravity failed? We’d keep right on going
after it! We’re on the surface of the earth that is
rotating at approximately 1,000 miles an hour. If motion quit
and gravity stayed, what would happen to the Moon? You’d
see the biggest fireworks show you ever saw, because in a
few minutes, the moon would be here! And this planet would
be a couple hundred miles thicker, but there wouldn’t
be anybody on it.
Now are these principles good, or are they evil? They are
necessary principles; they’re not good, they’re
not evil. They are necessary for the maintenance of life!
Now here we have a big circle; this represents Yahweh. And
the Bible says, in Him is life; and there is no shadow of
turning, and there is no darkness in Gim at all. No darkness
in Yahweh at all. Well then, where did what we call evil come
from? If evil was created by somebody else, then we’ve
got two gods, don’t we? And if we’ve got two gods,
then we have a major problem. Evil had to be created by our
Heavenly Father. Is He evil? Absolutely not! Does evil dwell
in Him? Absolutely not! He’s not an accumulation of
pieces like a little bit over here of something, a little
bit over here of something, a little bit over here of something
else…He’s not that. He’s pure spirit, and
He is perfect. He is flawless. And He is infinite wisdom,
infinite knowledge, infinite understanding; but, he wanted
to create a principle, a set of principles, whereby He could
give birth to children.
I can go the cabinet shop and I can build a boat to put
on the little lake out here. So I make this boat but I want
the boat to sink! Yes, I want this boat to sink, and I want
everybody on that boat to sink with it. So what do I do? When
I’m building this gorgeous big boat, all I have to do
to cause that boat to sink is to leave out a couple of pieces.
I’m dumb, but I know that if I want a boat to sink I
just leave a couple of pieces out. Does that mean that there’s
a piece left out of me? No, but when I created a boat I left
a piece out of that boat, and when you put that boat in the
water, glug glug glug! Down it goes, and everybody goes down
with it.
Now if I want to create a boat that won’t sink, all
if have to do is add those pieces that I left out, and that
boat won’t sink. But who is responsible for the principles
of putting the board in or leaving the board out? The responsibility
of the principles rest in Yahweh. Does that mean that there
are holes in Yahweh? No. Does that mean that evil dwells within
Him? No. The principle to leave the piece out of the boat
dwells in Him, but the boat is outside Him, and he made it,
created it, and called it Lucifer, Satan, whatever you want
to call it, and he left out those parts that guaranteed the
boat would sink. Thus, He’s the creator of what we call
good and evil. He is perfect, flawless, but He created them
and manifest them outside, just like I can build a boat that
will sink.
Because we’ve had some complaints that we were saying
God was evil. And these people that are saying that we say
God is evil, are saying “It thundered.” They did
NOT hear what was being said. I’m trying to bring up
some principles that show how a perfect, flawless, infinite
loving EloHim, Mighty One, can create the principles and not
have them in possession.
Lets go to Romans 11; and in the 36th verse, it says, “For
of Him…” (Here’s our Father over here) “of
Him”: Right in his heart, He conceived the principles
that are existing out here. I want it very clear, those principles
do not exist in Him; He created the principles and they exist
outside. Because, He is total, He is total! His boat will
never sink! His boat will never be in jeopardy! So the principles
“of Him”...what does that mean? “and through
Him..” Okay “of Him”—dead center in
His heart. He said, I will create a principle. It is of Him,
it is through Him, and it had to come through Him, didn’t
it? And to Him, are all things. SO every single thing that
exists found its origin in His infinite capacities. Of Him,
through Him, and back to Him are all things. I want us to
clearly understand that good really isn’t good and evil
really isn’t evil. Now hopefully by the time we get
there, some of you might not say that it thundered. “For
of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom
be glory forever.” And I’ve had preachers tell
me that God is too holy to even look upon evil. He can’t
even see evil! Is He blind?! No! The principles that we call
evil found their origins in his wisdom!
The Savior said in Matthew 11:15, He that hath ears, let
him hear. And in Matt 13, who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Lets go to Matt 11, start at the 18th verse. It says, “For
John came neither eating nor drinking and ye say he hath a
demon. The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say,
behold, a man gluttonous and a winebibber, a friend of publicans
and of sinners.” You see, the people weren’t satisfied
with John; he didn’t eat nor drink. Now that didn’t
mean he didn’t eat or drink (at all), he was refraining.
He wasn’t drinking alcoholic beverages and he wasn’t
eating the things that are condemned by the Scripture. He
did eat, obviously. And they say “he hath a demon.”
And the Savior comes in and he’ll sit down with the
sinners and publicans and he’ll have a glass of wine
and eat with them, and they say he was gluttonous and a winebibber,
so they were condemning both sides. But, listen to this: “But
wisdom is justified in her children.” Yahweh is the
only being in the whole creation that the end justifies the
means. Do you think that the end really honestly justifies
the means that Yahweh has set going? Will wisdom be justified
in her children or not? I think that wisdom will be justified
in her children. And the Bible says that wisdom grew up with
Yahweh. They were kids, they played together, if you can imagine
such a thing! I don’t know how wisdom grew up with Yahweh
but it says it does. But, “wisdom is justified in her
children.”
In Revelations it says “he that hath an ear let him
hear what the spirit sayeth unto the churches.” Ephesians
4:6, “One is Yahweh the father of all, who is above
all, through all, and in you all.” Do we believe it?
Is He the father of all, who’s above all, through all,
and in you all? In Matthew 13:43 it says, “Then shall
the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their
father, who hath ears to hear, let him hear.” In Genesis
2:17 it says, “But of the tree of the knowledge of good
and evil you shall not eat of it for in the day that thou
eatest thereof, thou shalt die…” the death of
double-mindedness.
Lets go to 2 Corinthians 4:15. “For all things are
for your sakes;” Do you hear that? Does that mean that
the evil is as much for your sake as the good is for your
sake? “For all things are for your sakes.” Why?
“That the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving
of many redound unto the glory of Yahweh.” All things.
Haleluia. That’s why we’re to rejoice in all things.
Don’t you think that the night they captured the Savior
and they brought Him up, and they brought Him before the fake
courts, they stripped Him, they flogged Him, they plucked
his whiskers they beat Him, they spat in his face, they accused
Him and they shamed Him, then they put a reed in his hand
and a crown of thorns on his face…was this evil? Or
was this the greatest good that ever happened up to that time?
Is gravity good or is gravity evil? It’s absolutely
necessary.
If I’m in an airplane and I’m flying along and
my engine quits, is gravity good or is it evil when I come
crashing down and smash in a thousand pieces? Will this “good”
gravity that’s keeping us alive now kill me an hour
from now? Did it all of the sudden become a great evil? No.
It’s a principle that’s in operation. Haleluia.
A principle in operation.
They took Him and they nailed Him to a cross. And it was
such an evil moment that Yahweh closed the sun, He made the
day dark. Was that evil or was that good? I think that while
the nails were in his hand, our Messiah thought it was a pretty
evil moment. And the disciples saw it there as a pretty evil
moment. But is Yahweh looking at segments of time, or has
He sat down and counted the cost, and has He looked to the
end before He started these principles in operation? Haleluia.
We have to get away from a “good god” and “bad
devil.” One! Hear O Israel, your Elohim is one! And
HE set all these principles in motion, and they’re operating.
That’s why all of them are for our sake to redound to
His glory. For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things.
Haleluia.
So the disciples went off sad. “We thought it was
Him and he was going to set up the kingdom,” you know.
And they’re walking on Ammais and this stranger walks
up and starts walking with them, and all of a sudden their
heart began to burn inside them. Good or evil? The resurrected
Christ was walking with them. Haleluia. Principles in progress.
And you cannot say that God is evil! No! He created a principle
that manifest outside Him, by simply making boats that sink.
That greatest evil that you can possibly imagine was in fact
the greatest good that could have happened, the crucifixion
of our Savior. For if he had not have died, he would never
have been buried, and he could never have been resurrected,
and if he was never resurrected from the grave the Bible says
your hope is vain, and you are yet in your sins. So did it
thunder or was it a good thing that took place at Calvary?
Well most of us can comprehend that because it’s easy
for us to look back at the resurrection of the Savior and
see the glory beyond the manifest evil. You’ve got to
get where you can see the glory beyond the evil that’s
being manifest in your life right now, not only in you but
against you. Look beyond it! Don’t be a segmented person;
become part of the eternal and say Thank you Father, for this
is redounding to my good, to your glory, for whatever experience
you find yourself in. It isn’t “Oh this is good
I’ll embrace this” and “this is bad oh yuck!”
No; thank Him in everything. Rejoice.
I wrote down here: “Is it evil? Of course not. It
is but a temporary condition that was used to produce a permanent
glory.” Shall I read that again? “Is it evil?
Of course not. It is but a temporary condition that was used
to produce a permanent glory.”
Here's another little thought: “Evil is only evil
when viewed from an incomplete state.” I’ll read
that one again: “Evil is only evil when viewed from
an incomplete state.”
Lets go to Matthew 11, 18th verse. “But remember when
this is all done, wisdom will be justified.” When you
see the evil going on in this world and the evil growing and
growing and growing, what is that telling you? Is evil not
growing in the world today? Is it not predominating in the
world today? It is dominating! What is that telling you? What
happened at the cross? Did evil dominate? What was the result?
The resurrection of the first begotten son of the Almighty!
What is going to be the result of the evil dominance today?
The redemption and manifestation of the sons of the Almighty!
That corporate body is going to be manifest! Haleluia!
“Then began he,”-- this is Messiah—“to
upbraid the cities where most of his mighty works were done
because they repented not. Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto
thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done
in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented
long ago in sackcloth and ashes.” Listen to that statement!
What was he saying? What he was saying was that if Tyre and
Sidon had just a little more revelation, a few more boards
in their boat, they wouldn’t have sank. If the mighty
works that were done in your had have been done in Tyre and
Sidon, they would have long ago repented. Now is it their
fault he left boards out of their boat? No. He has a divine
plan. And people would condemn Tyre and Sidon to eternal punishment
when the Savior knew Himself that a few more revelations would
have repented the entire city? How ludicrous a concept that
is! He just knew that if the mighty works had have been done
there, they would have repented.
Lets go on. “They would have repented long ago in
sackcloth and ashes. But I say unto you it shall be more tolerable
for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. And
Capernaum, which are exalted unto the heaven, shalt be brought
down to sheol, for if the mighty works done in you had been
done in Sodom, it would have remained unto this day.”
Do you mean that Sodom and Gomorrah, those cities that were
set out as evidence of the eternal fire and judgment of almighty
Yahweh, do you mean their boat would not have sank if it had
another plank in it? That’s just what he got through
saying. If those mighty works that they Capernaum saw had
have happened in Sodom and Gomorrah, the whole city would
have repented and he wouldn’t have burned it up “No
I’ll leave a couple planks out, I want that ship to
sink. And I want everybody in it to sink, as evidence of the
eternal judgment of Yahweh.” But what is he going to
do with Sodom and Gomorrah when he’s finished with Jerusalem?
He said, I’m going to give Sodom and Gomorrah to raise
as sisters once Jerusalem is restored. If you want to find
out where Sodom is given to Jerusalem its in Ezekiel 16. Its
not very commonly known.
That’s what it says, a younger and older sister, Damascus
and Sodom. I’ll give them to you but not by covenant,
for they are not of the house of Israel, but I’m going
to give them to you to raise as sisters! The love is expanding
in every direction for everyone. Is it Sodom’s fault
that the mighty works weren’t manifest there? You see
some dog going down the street, he’s all messed up,
his ship’s sinking, he’s made a shipwreck of life…infinite
wisdom worked this out. And he’s plugging the leaks
in your ship now. There is no room for pride, but there is
plenty of room for gratitude. Haleluia.
Evil is only evil when viewed from an immature state. “But
I say unto you it shall be more tolerable for the land of
Sodom in the day of judgment than for thee. And at that time
Yahshua answered and said I thank thee o father, sustainer
of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from
the wise and the prudent.” Do you know what the wise
and the prudent say? It thundered. “…And hast
revealed them unto babes. Even so, father, for so it seemed
good in thy sight.” Haleluia.
We have to become singly-eyed. Singly-eyed. And if I fall
down because evil is manifest in me, what is the purpose to
have evil manifest in my own character? And all of us have
it: for what good purpose would He have me be and do evil
things? Because if sin be not found in me, I should never
need repentance and would not receive the life of Messiah.
That’s what brought me to the foot of the cross. My
own sin brings me to the foot of the cross. Then why do I
need evil against me? If I be not sinned against, I could
not forgive, and could not grow. Is it good or is it evil?
It’s a process. Is gravity good or is gravity evil?
Gravity keeps us on this planet but if you step off the top
of a building the same thing that keeps you safely on this
planet will squash you like a pizza! Did it become evil when
you slipped over the edge? No. It’s neither. There’s
a tree of life, and all of these things fit into that tree
of life as his divine wisdom and process.
Lets go to John 6:48. The Savior’s standing there and
says “I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat
manna in the wilderness and are dead. This is the bread that
came down from heaven that a man may eat thereof and not die.
I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any
man eat of this bread he shall live forever. And the bread
that I will give is my flesh which I will give for the life
of the world.” Wait a minute: Is he talking about cannibalism
here? Some said it thundered! That’s just what the Jews
said: “The Jews therefore strove among themselves saying,
How can this man give us his flesh to eat?” They said
it thundered! Now if you’re going to be an accuser of
the brethren, be very careful not to say it thundered. These
guys thought he was talking about his arms and his legs. And
the roman church, through transubstantiation says it’s
a cookie. It’s neither! The divine life that he came
to give that is the word of Yahweh—the word became flesh,
what we saw was the word dwelling in the flesh, manifest in
the flesh. The Savior says I am the way, the truth and the
life, and I was talking this afternoon and people think that
they can accept the way, reject the truth, and receive life.
People think they can reject the truth and receive life. It
isn’t going to happen, friend. Haleluia. The whole lamb
had to be eaten! All of it! So we have to accept the way,
walk in the truth, and the end will be life.
But here he’s obviously not talking about his arms
and his legs, but the Jews there couldn’t comprehend
a thing and they’re saying how can he do this. For he
says, “My flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink
indeed. He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood dwelleth
with me and I in Him, as the living father hath sent me, I
live by the father, so he that eateth me, even he shall live
by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven, not
as your fathers which did eat manna and are dead. He that
eateth of this bread shall live forever. These things he said
in the synagogue as he taught in Capernaum.” And he
knew that those words in Sodom, would have changed their lives.
It’s real easy for Yahweh to change the hearts of
people who are un-covenanted. Because they are not in violation
to a covenant relationship, so he can just sweep across the
heathen world and transform them with a wave of his hand.
But you and I are in a covenant relationship and we must come
under the bond of the covenant.
Romans 9: 17: “For the scripture saieth unto Pharaoh,
even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might
show my power in thee, and that my name might be declared
throughout all the earth.” Now what series of events
did He use to get this statement completed? What we would
consider a very evil series of events. But what was the purpose?
The purpose was that He might get glory in the earth. “Therefore
hath mercy on whom he will have mercy and whom he will he
hardeneth. Thou wilt say unto me, why doth he yet find fault,
for who hath resisted Him? Nay but O man, who art thou that
repliest against Yahweh? Shall the thing formed say to Him
that formed it, why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter
power over the clay of the same lump to make one vessel unto
honor and another unto dishonor? What if Yahweh, willing to
show His wrath, and to make His power known, endured with
much long suffering the vessels of wrath fitted for destruction?”
Let’s read that again: “What if Yahweh, willing
to show His wrath, and to make His power known, endured with
much long suffering the vessels of wrath fitted for destruction?”
Who endured them? He did. He had to put with their evil, cantankerous
ways. But His wisdom looked beyond those moments of their
wickedness, knowing its going to reveal his power and his
might! “…with longsuffering the vessels of wrath
fitted for destruction. And that he might make known the riches
of his glory on the vessels of mercy which he hath afore prepared
unto glory: even us, whom he hath called…. As he saith
also in Osee (Hosea), I will call them my people, which were
not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And
it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said
unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called
the children of the living God.”
He makes of one lump vessels of honor and vessels of dishonor.
Is this good or is this bad: it is neither. It is a divine
plan, and he set principles in order to manifest his glory
in you and in me. I had LaDona write this on the blackboard:
“There is no more fertile field to search for treasure
in than the developing mind of Christ.” If you search
for Blackbeard’s gold treasure, that’s what you’ll
get if you’re lucky enough to find it. But what treasures
there are to be found in the developing of the mind of Christ!
This is the resurrection from the dead! The transformation
of our bodies will happen in a flash, but the resurrection
from the dead is the development of the mind of Christ. Search
in that treasure, and He will begin to reveal things from
His point of view. And that’s where we’ve got
to get, to see things as He sees them. Then we are no longer
double-minded, and we are able to be singly-eyed to the point
where we see all of these actions taking their proper balance
for the development of His plan.
A few nights back I was sleeping and pondering these things.
Wisdom is a pretty wonderful thing; there are no schools teaching
wisdom; every school on this planet should have a course in
wisdom, but of course we’re too smart for that. But
this word came into me like thunder so I had to get up in
the night and write it down. It says, “Do not think
that wisdom was not consulted before evil was created.”
I think that’s a neat thought! Yahweh just spoke to
me and said, “Do not think that wisdom was not consulted
before evil was created.” Now where was that evil created?
Was it in the heart of our father? Is he evil? Absolutely
not! He set the principle for it and created the evil in creation.
Not in the Creator. After this sermon, I don’t want
anyone accusing of us of teaching that God is evil.
“James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.”
What is it in you that would cause you to fall into a temptation?
Is it good, or is it evil? If you didn’t fall down,
you’d never need forgiveness. Is your falling good,
or is it evil? Its neither; He wanted you tempted; He left
the planks out of our boats so that we would sink to depths.
And is there anybody here who has not sunk to the depths?
But he knows how to repair the boat. He’s going to raise
it up and He’s going to repair it so it will never sink
again.
“Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh
patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye
may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you
lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally,
and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” Did
you hear what that said? If any of you lack wisdom, ask the
Source of Wisdom, and he will give it to you! I lack wisdom
a lot and I ask for it constantly. “Father give me wisdom.”
“But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he
that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind
and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive
any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in
all his ways. Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that
he is exalted: But the rich, in that he is made low: because
as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. For the sun
is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the
grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the
fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away
in his ways.
“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation:”
Now that is all kinds of evil against you. “For when
he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the
Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when
he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted
with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own
lust, and enticed.” That’s loose boards, planks
left out. This does not put evil in God; it’s a manifest
of His divine wisdom. “Then when lust hath conceived,
it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth
forth death. Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift
and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from
the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither
shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word
of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.”
The traditional church puts evil on the dark side and gives
all that creative force to a person they call the devil. And
everything we consider “good” comes from the Almighty
and He gets credit for that; and we walk between the good
and evil and we get nothing. The pure infinite manifestation
of our heavenly Father’s divine love within His heart
of wisdom He conceived the process that we call “good
and evil.” He conceived of gravity and motion. All of
these balance. He conceived of night and day, rain and sunshine.
All these opposites are working to make this planet habitable.
If you take one element out, you’ve got a catastrophe.
And we would do everything we could do to protect our children
from all the evil in the world and do you know what? If we
got our way, what would happen: No opportunity for development.
We would stunt our own children because we lack to see the
process from His point of view. For from Him and through Him
and to Him are all things. Haleluia. Sodom and Gomorrah will
not suffer eternally for their lack of understanding. Sidon
and Tyre will not always be destroyed because their opportunity
to hear the magnificent words of our Savior was denied them.
They will be raised as little sisters when Jerusalem finally
does within her heart what He intends to do. He built ships
and he left out boards and they sank, because that’s
exactly what He wanted them to do. But He knows how to put
all those boards in place and make perfect ships. Haleluia.
He’s the creator and sustainer of all things. So let
us not think that wisdom was not consulted before evil was
created. “I Yahweh do all these things.”
I’ll just use this little analogy that I’ve
said so many times, but it is good:
There was this Chinese mandarin in the days of the Chinese
warlords that had a friend come over to visit Him. And the
friend said, ‘how are things at your house?’ and
he said, “Oh their good.” He says he had a wonderful
stallion horse, and the friend says, “Oh that’s
good!”
“Well, I don’t know, the horse ran away.”
“Oh, that’s bad!”
“Well, I don’t know, the horse came back three
weeks later with a dozen mares.”
“Oh, that’s good!”
“Well I don’t know, my son was breaking one of
the mares, and he fell off and broke his leg.”
“Oh that’s bad!”
“Well, I don’t know, because the Tong lord came
through gathering up soldiers to go to war and he didn’t
take my son because he had a broken leg.”
"Oh, that’s gooood!"
You see? IN ALL THINGS GIVE THANKS. And don’t run
around cursing some mythical devil for everything that comes
into your life that you don’t understand. Nothing can
touch our lives that isn’t for our eternal blessing.
